An estimated 7.6 million mobile phone users in Saudi Arabia are using mobile phone applications that can help track lost or stolen items, a Saudi news agency reported Sunday.
The agency reported the number of mobile applications, including app providers and retailers, surpassed 10 million in the first six months of this year.
Saudi Arabia is a major smartphone market for many consumers in the Middle East and Asia.
It’s also a leader in mobile security applications.
The kingdom has been cracking down on stolen phones and has been using the mobile applications to track people and objects that might be in the wrong hands.
