Posted May 24, 2018 07:19:37Apple has revealed the Apple Pay app for its mobile devices will be available in Canada and the United States by the end of June, with Apple Pay already available for select Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport models.
The app will allow Apple Pay users to purchase, redeem, and use Apple Pay in-store, at participating stores and online at apple.com/watch and apple.ca/appleapp/app.
“As part of our ongoing efforts to provide our customers with a better experience on our devices, we will be making available the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple TV devices by the June 30, 2018,” the Apple statement reads.
While Apple has previously indicated that Apple Watch users would be able to purchase the Apple app, this is the first time that the Apple device has been officially announced.
For now, users will need to sign up for an Apple account in order to access the app.
Apple’s Apple Watch apps have been available in China for some time, with many customers being surprised to see that the app was also available in that country.
According to reports, the Apple watch apps were originally meant to be exclusive to Apple Watch in China, but the company has since expanded the Apple software and apps to cover all Watch platforms.
Apple will be introducing its Apple Watch software and accessories to all Apple Watch models in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand by the summer of 2020.
